Happy Victoria Day Weekend

Here is what I have been up to this weekend. and I am still not done. I have so far enlarged 3 flower beds and I have a Walkway to lay yet. But snce they are calling for rain tomorrow I guess this will have to wait. Whereever you see bare dirt they are the new beds waiting to be filled.

Airbourne Rocks.

If you like AC/DC you will love this band. It is hard to believe that a bunch of 19-23 year old boys could be this entertaining but they brought down the house.

Lets start at the beginning. I got to Ottawa at about 6pm and met up with Seb at the Hotel room ( yeah I don't have to drive home after the concert! ). After catching up on what's new we walked down to Capital City Music Hall and arrived there at 8pm. We had a bit of a wait until they opened the doors but there was no rush. I had never been to this venue before so I had no idea what to expect but there wasn't a bad spot to be in the whole place. Especially since the lead singer of Airbourne was allergic to the stage and was wandering all over the place.

The first band was Stone Rider they were good but the Mom in me just wanted to take the scrawny little farts home and feed them.

The second band Endeverafter only played 4 songs due to some technical difficulties? I wasn't as impressed with them as I was with the first band. They seemed kinda American to me if that makes sense.

Then came Airbourne. Wow nonstop from the time they hit the stage these guys worked the crowd like a bunch of pros. It is hard to believe they are so young. The Mom in me came out again as the lead singer's antics got going. All I could picture was many trips to the ER.

Now on to some pics.

Here are 3 of the boys. The 2 on the right should be called the new Terror Twins. Is is hard to get clear pics of these guys they never stay still long enough.

Lead Singer Joel. Sorry no pics of his brother the drummer.

Now some pics of Monkey Boy in action.

Yes this was about 12' off of the main floor.

Back on the ground so to speak. He is still on top of the bar!

Gotta love that face.

And finally the Terror Twins. Hyper Boys.

And I was actually back to the hotel and ready for bed all before 1am.

This was a good pick as my second to last concert for a bit. I will see these guys again in a heartbeat.

Big changes

I have decided, in principle anyway, that by this time next year I will no longer working at my present job. I have an idea of what I am going to do but nothing solid as I am waiting on some emails I have sent out.

To make a long story short I have to find something different to do before I am physically unable to do my present job or I get fired because I have punched someone in the face really hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!  God love stupid people, because I can't stand them!!!

Now this means quite a few changes. First I have officially quit smoking ( though I have been sicker since I have quit then in the last full year of smoking , go figure ). Second I am on a big time wagon. I am only allowed to get fibers or fabric to finish what I have in my stash. This also means a major sale of stash to raise money to get rid of some bills. The Police is my last concert until I get my new permenent job. But I am going to allow myself to go to Toronto but NO SHOPPING. Hear that Dani and Christin? You are to stop me at all costs unless it is something needed to finish a project and you know that for sure.

That is the end of my rant for today. And who knows next time I post maybe I have gotten fired got a major payout in lieu of notice and am doing a Happy Dance.

No this is not an April Fool's joke.

It's official

It's official we got 45cm/17 1/2" of snow and 15 cm/ 6" of ice pellets. That makes a whopping total of 60cm/23 1/2" in 48 hours.

Is it any wonder I didn't make it to work today?

Tag I'm it!

 I got tagged by Dani.

1. Once you are tagged, link back to the person who tagged you.

2. Post THE RULES on your blog.

3. Post 7 weird or random facts about yourself on your blog.

4. Tag 7 people and link to them.

5. Comment on their blog to let them know they have been tagged.

OK so I am not sure if I can come up with Seven things but here it goes.

1.  I am a closet Hercules/Xena fan. I am watching them as I type. They are great stitching DVD's.

2.  I am definately not a girly girl . I love the dirt under my nails. Hence my rather large garden and soon to be expanded garden

3.  I just love my penguins! But then again you all knew that one.

4.  I love cooking but hate cleaning my kitchen. I have been training a dishwasher for 11 years but no luck yet!

5.  I can pretty much grow anything outside but all plants die in my house. Go figure?

6.  I have been raising my DD all by myself for the last 9 years. That is a challenge  .

7.  I have failed yet again to quit smoking! Here come the drugs! Lets hope this one takes  .

Now I know I can't find 7 people to tag. Dani took them all.
But here are a couple. I tag Lynn , and  Ann That's all I can think of.

Not much to report

Well I don't have much to report. I seem to be in a stitching slump. I just recieved my fabric for Moolight Guardian and will start it this weekend. I am trying to finish up my TW before I move onto anything else. yes I know I am slow but remember everyone I had to rip and restitch 2 pages of Dragon after my BF incident.

Now as a blast from the past here is Lindsay and her favorite Donkey do Park Safari.
